In 1992, I was provided with an opportunity to work for a civil engineering firm. To be honest, I was persuaded to join my stepfather’s firm and for this, I will be forever grateful. The experience gained during these early years provided me with a solid foundation for everything that was to follow.

The nineties were exiting times. Technological advances began to transform the manner by which design work was being produced. Computers began to substitute pencils and paper, allowing for a more efficient manner to create construction drawings. It was then, when my love for design began.

After eleven years as an engineering tech/project manager, I saw it fit to expand on my knowledge of design and began to learn residential architecture. The principals of engineering aided in the understanding of architecture.  While both disciplines complement one another, architecture allows for broader range of artistic expressions.  The past three decades, have provided me with opportunities to collaborate in a wide range of projects where engineering and architecture principles are applied. 

While media and methods have changed, my passion for design and building has not. Some of my fondest memories come from visiting jobsites, assuring that contractor had followed the provided drawings, the same drawings that had been drawn by me. The chronology of events remains the same; client’s visons are documented and ultimately built. Thirty-plus-years later, the joy that I continue to get from knowing that I have been part of something that will last for decades, is extremely rewarding. It is without fail, that in some way, shape or form, I have been involved in development projects throughout all areas of Santa Barbara County, ranging from Santa Maria to Carpinteria, while also collaborating on a wide range of Rescue Mission projects throughout the United States.
